URGENT NOTICE FOR SACRED HEART: The bathrooms are out of order. There is no running water. Please keep this in mind as you prepare for Mass. If you have a medical condition requiring use of the restroom during the hour of Mass, please stay home. We do have porta-potties outside.

BROKEN VESSELS

During Lent, broken pieces of pottery are placed in the altar area. These broken pottery pieces represent our brokenness as humans; the empty jars represent our thirst for the water of life. We are restored through Christ’s passion and suffering. Jeremiah 18:1-6 speaks of God reshaping broken vessels, while 2 Corinthians 4:6-8 says people are the earthen vessels.

“Sometimes God breaks you, so He can pour through you. God has a purpose in your brokenness. It is the cracks in your soul that make you the unique person that you are. Nobody can be you because only you have been through what you have been through.” *

Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of Hope

Let’s plan for our church members to make the pilgrimage to the Diocese of Charlotte Eucharistic Congress on September 5^th and 6^th. We can get a bus and ride together. If there’s enough interest, we can reserve a block of rooms to experience both Friday and Saturday’s events. Let’s start planning now. If you are interested in helping Kelly plan this pilgrimage trip, please let her know.

DISCIPLE MAKER INDEX SURVEY

The Diocese of Charlotte is on a journey to know, love, and serve Christ in our parish community. Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith.

The very first step in this process involves assessing our greatest strengths and opportunities, and that is where the Disciple Maker Index (DMI) comes in! The DMI is an important survey tool that invites you to reflect on your discipleship journey here at St. Andrew and Sacred Heart. The Disciple Maker Index is designed to:

·         Invite parishioners to reflect on their journey of discipleship.

·         Enable parish leadership to make data-driven decisions.

·         Help parishioners grow in their faith.

The 10–15-minute survey can be accessed through an online link from Wednesday, March 5, 2025 and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide your perspective on our parish’s efforts to help you grow in relationship with Christ. All responses will be confidential, and the parish will only receive information about the community as a whole. We will share the link with you a bit closer to the launch of the survey. Paper surveys will also be available for those who do not have the ability to complete the survey online.

Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith.

ENCUESTA DEL ÍNDICE DE HACEDORES DE DISCÍPULOS

La Diócesis de Charlotte está en un viaje para conocer, amar y servir a Cristo en nuestra comunidad parroquial. Juntos debemos abrazar la visión de Cristo para el discipulado misionero para que nuestra parroquia pueda prosperar y ser un lugar para que otros crezcan juntos en la fe.

El primer paso en este proceso implica evaluar nuestras mayores fortalezas y oportunidades, ¡y ahí es donde entra en juego el Índice de Hacedores de Discípulos (DMI)! El DMI es una importante herramienta de encuesta que te invita a reflexionar sobre tu viaje de discipulado aquí en San Andrés y el Sagrado Corazón. El Índice de Hacedores de Discípulos está diseñado para:

·         Invite a los feligreses a reflexionar sobre su camino de discipulado.

·         Permita que el liderazgo parroquial tome decisiones basadas en datos.

·         Ayude a los feligreses a crecer en su fe.

Se puede acceder a la encuesta de 10 a 15 minutos a través de un enlace en línea a partir del miércoles 5 de marzo de 2025 y le pedirá que reflexione sobre su propio crecimiento espiritual y le permitirá brindar su perspectiva sobre los esfuerzos de nuestra parroquia para ayudarlo a crecer en la relación con Cristo. Todas las respuestas serán confidenciales y la parroquia solo recibirá información sobre la comunidad en su conjunto. FAITH FORMATION FOR CHILDREN at St. Andrew. All children in the class are expected to attend Mass each week before the lesson. All children are expected to practice their prayers in English. All children are expected to complete any assignments sent home by the teachers. All parents are expected to encourage their children to complete all the work, learn the prayers, and –most importantly—attend Mass with their children.

La FORMACIÓN EN LA FE POR LOS NIÑOS en San Andrés. Se espera que todos los niños de la clase asistan a Misa cada semana antes de la lección. Se espera que todos los niños practiquen sus oraciones en inglés. Se espera que todos los niños completen las tareas enviadas a casa por los maestros. Se espera que todos los padres animen a sus hijos a completar todo el trabajo, aprender las oraciones y, lo más importante, asistir a Misa con sus hijos.

THE BISHOP’S YOUTH PILGRIMAGE gathers middle and high school youth each spring for a day of hope, fun and inspiration! The event, hosted by Belmont Abbey and Belmont Abbey College, is a prelude to the fall Eucharistic Congress designed just for young people. Saturday, April 12 – 9 AM to 3 PM   Encounter Jesus through praise and worship, Eucharistic Adoration, talks, and confession. Celebrate our Eucharistic Lord and be inspired to share Christ with others. Then, embark as “Pilgrims of Hope” in an inspirational Eucharistic Procession to close the day.

Registration: $20/person (includes lunch and a T-shirt) Deadline to register: Wednesday, April 2

LA PEREGRINACIÓN JUVENIL DEL OBISPO reúne a jóvenes de secundaria y preparatoria cada primavera para un día de esperanza, diversión e inspiración. El evento, organizado por Belmont Abbey y Belmont Abbey College, es un preludio del Congreso Eucarístico de otoño diseñado solo para jóvenes. Sábado, 12 de abril – 9 AM a 3 PM Encuentre a Jesús a través de la alabanza y la adoración, la adoración eucarística, las charlas y la confesión. Celebremos a nuestro Señor Eucarístico e inspírense para compartir a Cristo con los demás. CATHOLIC HEALTH CARE ETHICS CONFERENCE Health care professionals are invited to the eighth annual Converging Roads health care ethics conference on March 29, 2025 from 8:00 am – 5:45 pm at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Charlotte, NC. This one-day conference will explore the theme of The Future of Human Dignity and offers continuing education for health care professionals rooted in the Hippocratic and Catholic ethical tradition. But if we don’t know your roof is leaking, we can’t send the volunteers to your house. If you don’t let us know that you need help getting rid of the mold, then we can’t help—and we want to help.
