FISH FRY
The Knights of Columbus are hosting a Fish Fry after Stations of the Cross on Friday, March 6th and 20th at St. Andrew; they will be at Sacred Heart at 5 pm on Friday, the 13th. Plates will contain fish, hushpuppies, slaw, and a drink. Please make a donation for the plate to support the Knights.
FRITURA DE PESCADO
Los Caballeros de Colón organizan una fritura de pescado después de las Estaciones del Crucis el viernes 6 y 20 de marzo en St. Andrew; estarán en Sacred Heart a las 17:00 horas del viernes 13. LENTEN MISSION RETREAT
Father Valentine Iheanacho, MSP, will be leading the first Lenten Mission retreat at our parish. He will be celebrating the English Masses on March 15th and will be teaching on two evenings at each church. Fr. Valentine is the Director of Development of the Missionary Society of St. Paul, Houston and is a friend of Fr. Anthony.
He will be teaching at Sacred Heart on Monday and Wednesday, the 16th and 18th, at 6:30 pm, at St. Andrew on Tuesday and Thursday, the 17th and 19th, at 6:30 pm.
Please join us for our first Lenten Mission.
RETIRO MISIONERO DE CUARESMA
El padre Valentine Iheanacho, MSP, dirigirá el primer retiro de la Misión Cuaresmal en nuestra parroquia. Celebrará las misas en inglés el 15 de marzo y dará clases dos noches en cada iglesia. ST ANDREW PARISH COUNCIL MEETING SUMMARY
At the February Parish Council Meeting Summary
Parish Council Members:
• Discussed having altar servers at Sunday Masses and the search for a volunteer to train them.
• Learned of monetary gifts provided by Manna Food Bank and Catholic Charities, both gifts of which will help fund the parish’s donation center and elementary school outreach.
• Discussed the online survey (details of which can be found in the bulletin) and that parishioners are encouraged to complete the survey, as requested by the diocese.
• Learned of and discussed the parish’s coming access to Flocknote, diocesan-provided software that allows for easier communication between the Church and parishioners.
• Discussed the opportunity to attend the Lenten retreat scheduled for March.
• Discussed the feasibility of building a social hall on parish grounds to help provide space for community outreach and parish events.
• Discussed the need for the trailers parked on parish grounds to remain for now, as they’re used to store items that support our donation center.
• Discussed making a request of the Knights of Columbus to help with more efficient parking before Sunday Masses.
• Began considering holding an annual parish council retreat, possibly to be held jointly with the Sacred Heart Parish Council and the finance council.
